‘AI is here, whether you like it or not,’ Minister Savannah tells MPs

Members of Parliament (MPs) participated in a transformative Training in Governance Workshop, facilitated by the Ministry of ICT in collaboration with the Royal Science and Technology Park.

The workshop concluded yesterday with an inspiring address by Minister Savannah Maziya, who emphasized the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping more effective and responsive governance structures.

Minister Maziya stated, “AI is here. It has been here. We are just paying more attention now because it is becoming more prevalent in all that we do.” Her remarks encapsulated the workshop’s objective to familiarize MPs with the ethical implications and applications of AI in policymaking, aiming to enhance public service delivery in the digital age.
