Prime Minister visits Minsk Dairy Plant No.1 in Belarus

Prime Minister Russell Dlamini has visited several places in Belarus, where he explored potential collaborations and gleaned insights for Eswatini’s development.
Among his stops was a demonstration camp of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Republican Clinical Center of the Office of the President, and notably, Minsk Dairy Plant No.1.

In a statement following his visit, Prime Minister Dlamini expressed admiration for the Belarusian facilities and outlined the potential benefits for Eswatini. “From these engagements, we gained inspiration to import part of this knowledge to Eswatini through skills-sharing and training,” he stated.

The Prime Minister was particularly impressed with the scale and efficiency of Minsk Dairy Plant No.1. The plant, a leader in the Belarusian dairy industry, produces an astounding 1,600 tonnes of dairy products daily, with 40% of its output destined for export.

“We were equally impressed with the dairy plant, which produces 1,600 tonnes of products daily and exports at least 40% of its products,” Dlamini remarked.
Minsk Dairy Plant No.1 has long been recognized for its use of natural cow’s milk to produce high-quality dairy products.

The company’s reputation for excellence and leadership in the dairy sector of Belarus sets a benchmark for Eswatini.

Prime Minister Dlamini highlighted the potential for Eswatini to emulate such success. “We truly believe Eswatini has the potential to implement most, if not all of these programs, particularly in the area of healthcare, which is a critical matter of urgency,” he said.

The Premier marked the conclusion of a successful first day of his working visit to the Republic of Belarus, which he said highlights promising discussions and potential partnerships in various sectors. The visit is set to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for mutual growth between the two nations.

In a meeting with Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, Dlamini expressed optimism about the burgeoning relationship between Eswatini and Belarus.

“We have concluded the first day of our working visit to the Republic of Belarus. Following our successful engagement with H.E Roman Golovchenko, Belarus Prime Minister, we proceeded to Minsk Tractor Works, a leading manufacturer of wheeled agricultural tractors, machinery, and implements,” the Prime Minister stated.

“As a country, we believe there is a lot we can learn from this company and there remain opportunities for further exploration and partnership.”
In addition to agricultural advancements, the Prime Minister’s visit included a crucial meeting with Andrei I. Ivanets, Belarus Minister of Education.

The discussions focused on enhancing Eswatini’s education system, particularly in the areas of agriculture, science, and technology. Dlamini described the talks as robust and productive, highlighting the potential for introducing current and relevant programs that align with the needs of Eswatini’s economy.
